Ride the Waves Consulting was founded by two navigators, Cathy Carfagno and Mark Lawson. Cathy brings deep experience in human-centered change and facilitation, while Mark leads with visual strategy and enterprise design thinking. Together, they blend story, structure, and visuals to help teams see the big picture, make better decisions, and move through transformation with confidence.
Mark Lawson
Mark focuses on leading visual storytelling initiatives that bridge the gap between complex IT strategies and human understanding. His mission is to transform business narratives into visionary storymaps that guide teams through every digital ripple.
Cathy Carfagno

Our Position on AI
Creative and whole brain thinking has always been a key tenant for Ride the Waves. The creation of a detailed story or journey map was always contingent on a skilled Adobe Illustrator or vendor to help make them a reality. Now with the help of generative AI and other technology advances, we can drastically reduce the time from creative ideation to delivery. In fact with the amazing success of products like Google's Gemini Notebook Infographics, the corporate and business worlds are finally starting to understand the concept of Visualization-as-a-Discipline.
Having said that we believe that humans should ALWAYS be the creator of the the root idea. We use AI as an assistant to bring to life our visual ideas and worlds. We are excited to embed various AI tools in our Navigator Toolkit that will give our clients the quality and brand that they are expecting of us.
